The government has lifted the COVID-19 restrictions making wearing masks optional.
Health Cabinet Secretary, Mutahi Kagwe announced the easing of the containment measures on March 11, while addressing the press.
"Kenyans will no longe be required to wear masks in public places but will be required to do so when visiting government offices or using Public Service Vehicles (PSVs)." Said CS Kagwe.
The government further stopped quarantine meaning persons suspected of contracting corona virus will not go for a forced isolation.
The CS further noted that despite the blatant refusal to abide by the containment measures, the reported new cases were still low signalling that the citizens may be developing an immunity.
