Jackson Kiprotich Kibor, a wealthy businessman and politician from Eldoret, has died at St. Luke's Hospital, Eldoret. He was in his late 80
The family confirmed Mr. Kibor's demise after a long illness on Wednesday 16.
Mr. Kibor who passed on in his late 80s, had been using oxygen cylinders since October last year after contracting COVID-19.
Prior to confirmation of his death, the prominent farmer was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit after doctors revealed that both his kidneys failed.
Nicknamed 'Chairman of the Men's Conference', Kibor became famous both for both good and the bad.
Despite his philanthropic gestures to many, he hit the headlines severally for divorce cases with his wives as well as for engaging his children in physical fights over his vast property.
In 2017 the court allowed him to divorce his third wife about a year after divorcing his second wife with whom they had been married for over 50 years. He later married a fourth wife. His first wife died many years ago.
During Valentine's Day, his name would be a trending topic as men who don't value the day took to social media to write about the nonexistent men's conference they would be attending chaired by Mzee Kibor.
The 'Men's Conference Chairman' is survived by over 20 children.
