Forest Road Bodaboda Incident Mastermind Arrested

Police have arrested the mastermind behind the Forest Road sexual assault incident on a female motorist a week ago at the Kenya-Tanzania border.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Zachariah Nyaora Obadia, the elite Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau augmented by a section of detectives from Nairobi DCI Regional command, pounced on the suspect as he tried to cross the border to Tanzania through a panya route.


DCI said that the suspect who has been on the run since last week, escaped their dragnet in Mukuru Kayaba, through a sewer outlet.

“Using digital forensics, cybercrime experts at the DCI National Forensic Laboratory, had earlier placed the thug at the scene of the crime scientifically, before launching a manhunt for him.” The Investigation Agency said.

The suspect has been engaging detectives in hide and seek games before his was cornered. He is set to be transported to Nairobi to face lawful charges.

Unregistered Mobile Lenders To Cease Operation In Kenya

This comes after President Uhuru Kenyatta last year signed the Central Bank Act 2021, that placed all digital lenders under CBK. So far, CBK has already set a raft of measures to regulate the sector, saying owners of these mobile lenders will also be subjected to self-audit to tame money laundering in the country.
