Suspects Linked To Forest Road Attack on Female Motorist Arrested

The suspects linked to the Forest Road incident in which a group of boda boda operators assaulted a female motorist have been arrested by the police.

Through their social media accounts, the National Police Service (NPS) confirmed the arrest.

“We have since identified some of the perpetrators and they will be presented before a court of law upon completion of investigations,” read the NPS tweet.

This was after a video clip where a group of boda boda riders are seen harassing the lady driver went viral online and attracted the attention of the police.

Kenyans who watched the clip expressed anger and disappointment calling on the authorities to act with speed.

“Our attention has been drawn to a distasteful video circulating on social media of Boda boda riders attacking a motorist after an alleged road traffic accident,” NPS said.

As at the time of this reporting, Nairobi Area Traffic Commandant Joshua Omukata confirmed that a total of 16 Boda Boda riders had been arrested with five bikes impounded.

The lady was allegedly involved in an accident where it is reported that she knocked a Boda Boda rider.

There have been concers about the conduct of Boda Boda riders across the country with a section of the public calling for their strict regulation over gross misconduct and involvement in criminal activities.
