Kenyans have been eager to know the identity of the woman who went through a nightmare in the hands of a group of boda boda riders along Forest Road on Friday last week.

While her name has not been disclosed yet, it has now emerged that she is not a Kenyan. Sources have disclosed that she is a Zimbabwean diplomat working World Food Programme (WFP), an organisation of the United Nations (UN).

The victim was sexually harassed by over 15 boda boda operators after she was involved in an accident with one of them.

In her account, the woman explained that the whole saga came about after she knocked down a boda boda and its rider, leaving him with a broken leg. In no time, other riders surrounded her car and she contemplated speeding off.

However, after moving a few metres and seeing the men were running after her car, she stopped, perhaps to solve the matter amicably. But the riders had other plans.

They opened the front door of her car and started groping her as well as trying to strip her naked. She screamed helplessly.

A few minutes, a traffic cop arrived and dispersed the goons. The incident was captured in a one-minute video clip that has gone viral on social media networks.

At least 16 boda boda operators have been arrested in connection with the sexual assault as the police are still pursuing more suspects, including the mastermind, Zachariah Nyaora Obadia, who has gone into hiding.

At the same time, it has been business unusual in the sector as police target rogue boda boda riders across the country following President Uhuru Kenyatta's order of the arrest of all riders without a license and those flouting traffic rules.
